0700hrs: Departed Seisia taking advantage of the tide to ghost out past Red Island and head out towards the Boat Channel.
Five to 7 knots of southeasterly for most of the trip. Tides and currents are unusual up this way, but the outgoing tide in Seisia and TI gave us up to a 3-knot tide advantage for much of the trip. Once in the boat channel, the current dropped down to around 0.5 kt to our advantage. Once we rounded the last Boat channel marker we were pushing into a 2-3kt adverse current caused by the flood tide at one end of TI and an outgoing tide at the other end of TI. The building southeasterly also slowed us down.
1100hrs: Arrived TI and anchored opposite the Douglas Street jetty
A quick walk around the CBD of TI and a meal at the Top Pub (Torres). Great to be back on country.
