Fraser Island (Moon Point) to Inskip Point

0530hrs: Departed Moon Point--no wind motoring with the tide.

Lots of islands and beaches along the way between Fraser Island and the mainland.

After a rain squall around 100hrs the wind picked up and we were able to turn the motors off and sail the channel. The wind gusted up to 18knots and the acceleration on the flat water was staggering.  Sat on or above 9knots in the wind gusts.  Sensational sailing.

12340hrs:  Arrived art Inskip Point, dropped sail and attempted to anchor on the point.  Lots of seagrass and poor holding so we snuck into Pelican Bay to await the high tide tomorrow to cross the infamous Wide Bay Bar.

Been having some issues with our new Raymarine Axiom Chart-plotter.  It has been breaking GPS lock at the most in opportune times.  It appears that the default setting is for "Differential GPS" which means that it will accept data from Japanese satellites and this causes some confusion for the unit and breaks the GPS.  We will see if that fixes the problem.
