Southport to Dunwich (North Stradbroke Island)

0630hrs:  Departed Southport heading for Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island via the western side of Russell Island.

1400hrs:  Arrived at Dunwich and had trouble setting the anchor.  First time we have had issues here.  Eventually, we tied up to a mooring ball.
Brisbane and Morton By are now in Covid lockdown.  The water police advise that we are fine to progress to Morton Island, but questions may be asked if we transit through to Mooloolaba.

Dragging the Anchor in front of Australia Fair--what a drag!!!

0800hrs:  Breakfast done and good news, our oldest daughter and her 5 kids are coming down from Toowoomba to spend this Sunday with us.  They expect to be here around 1130hrs.

1030hrs:  The rain has set in and the wind is up to around 20kts.

1115hrs:  The wind is up to 25kts and as I exit the cabin I instantly notice that kids waterpark is much, much closer.  About 5 metres away from our stern.  OOPS!!
No probs, we'll just motor out and reset the anchor.  1st time--no good, still dragging; second  time in another spot--still dragging.  Third time lucky? we motored between a steel monohul and a big sailing cat.  We've got the anchor to hold this time, but a bit close to the steel mono.  Can't go back too much more as there is a channel marker behind us.

1230hrs: Finally, it appears safe to go ashore so we met up with our daughter and her beautiful kids/young adults.  It "pissed" down all day, but it was great to seem them all again

1600hrs:  Arrived at Southport and anchored opposite Australia Fair.
